The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.
Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Course Completion Card that is valid for two years.
Course Length: 5 hours.
Intended Audience
Persons assigned to respond to emergencies in the workplace or community as well as those who want to learn First Aid, CPR and AED skills. Some rescuers are required to take this course as part of their employer’s efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, e.g., corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel, lifeguards and other individuals who want or need First Aid training.
