Emergency Services Educators & Consultants routinely holds HazMat & Weapons of Mass Destruction courses all over the MidAtlantic states. Our last class was held at the Madison Park Fire Training Center in Old Bridge NJ.
The Course is a Pro Board eligible WMD/HazMat Operations course, and the majority of the costs of the course and the Pro Board testing are being covered by a grant from the Department of Homeland Security Those who wish to take the Pro Board exam will be completing it on the final day of class.
There are no prerequisites for the course, however if you wish to take the Pro Board test, a HazMat Awareness-level course meeting Chapter 4 of the NFPA 472 Standard (2008) is a certification requirement. The preferred course meeting the certification requirement is the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) online course AWR160-W, or a Pro Board approved HazMat Awareness class. Please note: the HazMat Awareness offered by the NJ Dept of Health does NOT meet this requirement. Only a HazMat Awareness class that specifies on the certificate that it meets NFPA 472 Standard (2008) will be accepted by the TEEX staff.
The class is open to any public safety professional (Fire/EMS/Police/OEM/etc), but registration is limited to the first 30 participants.
In order to register, go to http://www.
All students must also have a FEMA student ID #. In order to obtain one, go to https://CDP.DHS.gov/FEMASID. Register at the site and an SID number will be issued. The lead instructor will need this information the first day of class.
